About Us

Gael Energy is a Carlow based company, providing solar and wood pellet/chip systems. The company is owned and managed by Lynne Whelan and supported by a fully trained team of  solar installers for the Lazer 2 solar thermal system along with a full engineering network for the Biomass systems. The combination has ensured the success of Gael Energy, which has grown from new build domestic jobs to large scale commercial projects and multi installation sites.

The company has been selected as one of the top five best emerging new businesses for 2009 by the Small Firms Association(SFA).

Austria is a country at the forefront of renewable energy technologies both in manufacturing and in use. In Ireland it is still a relatively new industry so Lynne and members of the Gael Energy team have travelled to Austria on several occasions for training and experience in the new technological advances and integration of renewable energy systems. Following two years of practical installations in Ireland, Gael Energy now offers a  complete service on any size projec,t large or small, from surveying , design and drawings , installation ,commissioning and grant application assistance.

Gael Energy currently holds the full Irish  stock supply and are the main Irish distributers and installers of the Lazer 2 solar hot water heating system .We also provide training in our Carlow base for both sales and installation for the solar thermal systems, to enable us to support and supply to the trade, which is an area we are expanding on throughout the country.

Our work with  biomass systems, wood pellet/chip,  has been specialised in the commercial  new build and retro fit developments , fully supported by the  engineering team here in Ireland. The range takes us from domestic to large scale industrial with many projects already in place, here in Ireland for many years. Services in district heating are now also available and we are pleased to have a working biomass energy centre on display at our office base in Whitelite House.

Due to the changing markets and particularly the construction industry which has effected the type of projects that we now work on, we noticed a greater up take in the ‘retro fit’ of exsisting buildings. Hotels, commercial premises and domestic houses have begun to invest in ‘future proofing’ their current buildings . The renewable sector is a growth area in Ireland and with continued government support and initiatives and increasing public awareness of the need to save money and the environment, it continues to be an exciting sector to be involved  in with distinct promise for all our futures.
